Cycling Meso

Grab your helmets and hit the trails with us this spring for The Gori Law Firm‘s inaugural Cycling for Meso event on April 26 from 8 a.m. to noon! Cyclists of all experience levels are invited to join us for this special event that will kick off our efforts to cycle to help raise funds to support the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF). This important organization is dedicated to finding a cure and eradicating mesothelioma as a life-ending disease ( http://www.curemeso.org). Mesothelioma is a form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.

To join in the fun, simply choose your path and register! Then all you have to do is join us on April 26 beginning at 7 a.m. at the check-in tent, located at the N.O. Nelson Campus of Lewis & Clark Community College at 600 Troy Road (across the street from Market Basket) in the heart of Edwardsville.

The Gori Law Firm, based in downtown Edwardsville is seeking sponsors in support of a pub crawl event they are hosting on May 4, 2013 to benefit Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF). In its second year, the Pub Crawl for Meso will include Edwardsville’s finest establishments within walking distance throughout the downtown area to include Global Brew, The Stagger Inn, Erato on Main and Big Daddy’s.

“We are dedicated to raising funds for Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation and are seeking sponsors for the pub crawl this year to enhance our fundraising efforts,” said Randy Gori of The Gori Law Firm.

Sponsorships are available for $250 each, which includes two free pub crawl tickets, sponsor logo on pub crawl t-shirt and mentions in press releases and social media. Local business Cork Tree Creative, Inc. has already signed on as a sponsor. Deadline to secure a sponsorship is April 8, 2013.

Tickets to the pub crawl are available for $50 each, which includes a free Pub Crawl for Meso t-shirt and drink specials the evening of the pub crawl. To request a sponsorship or tickets to the pub crawl, please call Krissy Howard at The Gori Law Firm at (618) 659-9833.

MARF is a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping end the suffering caused by Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many of the body’s internal organs. It is caused by exposure to asbestos.

August 18, 2012 – The Gori Law Firm Rummage Sale! Come out to the parking lot at 156 North Main Street, Edwardsville IL on August 18th for a rummage sale! All types of items will be for sale ranging from clothing, toys, electronics, to home goods! We will also be selling computers and donating all of the proceeds to the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF). The set includes a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and tower. Credit cards accepted at some booths!


June 8 & 9, 2012 – Route 66 Festival, Edwardsville IL. The Edwardsville Route 66 Festival on June 8th and 9th in Edwardsville City Park next to the library was a big success! We had free goodies for all who stop by, and face painting for the kids! See you there next year!


May 18, 2012 – Relay for Life. On May 18th, The Gori Law Firm staff members attended the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Relay for Life at Edwardsville High. Relay For Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

April 28, 2012 – Taste of Edwardsville. SIUE’s Meridian Ballroom held the Taste of Edwardsville event. All proceeds benefited the Edwardsville Neighbors in Need, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing temporary financial assistance to Edwardsville area families, for urgent needs due to unforeseen medical or emergency hardships.


March 31, 2012 – Pub Crawl for Meso!! This Pub Crawl went through downtown Edwardsville, IL in support of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF) to help find a “Cure4Meso.” All proceeds were donated to MARF to help with research, finding treatments and ultimately a cure for Mesothelioma. Participating bars included: Global Brew, Stagger Inn, Erato on Main, Big Daddy’s, and Laurie’s Place. We raised over $4,000 for this great charity!

March 10, 2012 – Walk for Wishes! The Gori Law Firm participated and sponsored the “Walk for Wishes” in St. Clair Square, Fairview Heights, IL, which is a fundraiser to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. In 2012, their goal is to grant more than 800 wishes, and they have a long term goal of granting wishes to all eligible children in Illinois.

January 5th and 6th, 2012 – Hot Coffee – The Gori Law Firm hosted a viewing of ” Hot Coffee,” a documentary focused on the issue of tort reform, by Susan Saladoff at the Wildey Theatre in downtown Edwardsville. 252 North Main Street, Edwardsville, IL 62025. All of the proceeds from the event were donated to the American Cancer Society.

On October 31, The Gori Law Firm in partnership with the American Red Cross, hosted a Blood Drive. The event was a huge success, however The American Red Cross always needs donors to help them save lives. We encourage all who can to find a Blood Drive near you and get out and donate!


“Lawyers for the Needy” Madison County Bar Association Food Drive. September 1 – 30, 2011. Attorneys in Madison County stepped up to help those in need by donating canned goods and non-perishable food items to local pantries. The pantries that received the donations were: Glen – Ed Food Pantry (Edwardsville), Community Hope Center (Cottage Hills), Venice Township Food Bank (Madison), Riverbend Community Food Bank (Alton). In addition to the food, we collected $1,235 that was divided among the four pantries to help them stock the shelves.
